Relax, Sleep, Relax, Eat, Relax, Fish, Relax...

We spent 4 days at the lake last weekend and it was some of the most relaxing days we have had in a long time! We took our time getting to the lake, stopping for lunch and a visit to the Pine Grove Zoo on the way up on Thursday. Once we got the lake we unloaded the van, Colton hopped on his bike and off he went to find his friends. Frankie and I just lounged around spending some quality time with Mason (we both have been working some crazy hours so this time to just hang out was awesome)! Colton would come back and check in every so often and then it was back to his friends - it is weird to let him run the campground with minimal supervision but he is old enough and I just need to accept that I guess! We did convince him to go with us out in the boat a couple times and him and Daddy were even able to reel in a nice big bass on one of our trips! We cooked dinner over the fire every night which is probably my favorite part of camping (well beside all of our family time)! Also Frankie and I were able to play many games of 500 Rummy which is something we haven't done in years. All I can say was our weekend was 4 days of complete relaxation with no schedules to keep and lots of family to bonding to get caught up on!

Half a Year!!

I am still having a hard time accepting that my baby is already half a year old - seriously how did that happen? He is growing so quickly and as much as I love to see him discover new things I also want him to stay my baby forever. We took him for his 6 month check up today and he is 28 inches long (95th percentile) and 18 pounds 5 ounces and healthy which is all we could have hoped for. He is rolling all over the place now, sitting on his own quite well and has even started to eat some finger foods! He always wants to see what everyone else is doing and has even started to skip naps (I know what you are thinking, he can't be old enough to skip naps but he sure does it)!! He is such an amazing little guy - we are so blessed to have another happy, strong, healthy little man in our lives!

On the roll.....

Mason is all about tummy time because he knows he can roll all around the living room... seriously if I leave the room for more than a minute I have to the play a game of "Where's Mason" when I come back! He is getting quite good at holding his head up and searching for his next big adventure but he still hasn't learned to hold his head to scoot, he buries his face into the carpet and then pushes with his feet (I see carpet burn in his future)! He is also getting better at sitting up although it doesn't take long and he topples back over onto his tummy. I know it won't be long before he is really mobile so I am trying to enjoy these days where he can only roll to where he needs to go and he can only go so fast! My baby is growing up way too fast.

Kayaking Machine

Colton learned to kayak all by himself last weekend and he is so proud. He was all over the lake, not scared at all (should I be worried?). Of course with him in my kayak I got stuck using an inflatable chair and an oar from the canoe... not nearly as much fun or easy to maneuver, oh well I guess that is what happens when you have kids! Anyways, I am very excited to have a kayaking buddy, now we just need to buy another kayak!

Jump, Jump, JUMPEROO!

Mason is obsessed with his new bouncer (on loan from his cousins), all he wants to do is JUMP!! He will sit and bounce in this thing for an hour at a time - stopping only to eat and maybe have his diaper changed! Check out this video and you will see what I mean!!

It's a Pool Day!

We spent most of our Sunday afternoon in the pool! Freddie, Melissa and the boys joined us for some pool time and lunch! And then when Mason went down for a nap Colton, Daddy and I spent another two hours just lounging around in the water! I now look like a lobster but it was totally worth it! We are getting great use of our pool this summer - good investment so far!!

Como Fun Day!

Last Wednesday night Colton had his buddy Landon sleep over and they camped out in a tent in the family room!! And then on Thursday I took the boys to Como for the day! Colton loves having someone his age to do things with (Mason is just too boring as he can't do anything yet)! We started off our day at Como by having lunch with Daddy (Frankie was working at Como that day)! Then we went to see the animals and enjoyed some rides! We ended our afternoon at the Splash Pad - the older boys ran and played in the water while Mason took a nap in the shade! It was such a fun day - hot summer days can't get much better than this one was.
