Family Time

First some pictures from our day off on Thursday! Colton and Daddy spent some time cleaning up the backyard, including cleaning off the patio, washing the house and watering the garden! Colton loves being daddy's little helper. And speaking of the Garden I am doing a pretty good job at keeping everything alive so far! We planted the following:
* Tomatoes
* Green Beans
* Cucumbers
* Jalapenos
* Bell Peppers
* Chili Peppers
* White Onions
* Cilantro
* Cantaloupe
* And of Course Pumpkins - the regular size ones and some Giant 300 Pound Pumpkin Type!
Okay now on to our busy weekend. Saturday I went to a baby shower for one of my best friends. She is expecting a baby girl the end of July and we got to shower her with all kinds of awesome gifts. Congrats Betsy I can't wait to meet your little one... only 7 more weeks or less if you are lucky! Two of my other girlfriends are also expecting this summer! Kate is due in August and Alicia is due in early September. It is gonna be a baby filled summer!Saturday evening we went to Jaclyn's Graduation party! I still can't believe she has graduated High School, when I first met her she was only 8! Congrats Jaclyn and best wishes with everything in the future! And then today we went to the Wolfe Family Reunion. And we were able to get some pictures off all of the Grandkids together. The first picture is Grandma Yvonne, Great Grandma Gwen and Great Grandpa Len with the Grandkids. The second picture is Gwen and Len with all 5 of their Grandkids and all 5 Great Grandkids.

Weekend exploring the North Shore!!

This past weekend we took a mini vacation to the North Shore! Frankie and I spent a few days in Duluth on our honeymoon and here we are 5 years later already so we thought it would be fun to back and to take our son with us! We had an awesome time! The weather was perfect and it was early enough in the summer that it wasn't crazy with tourists! We left early Friday morning and we arrived at Goosberry Falls State Park around noon. I love this place, it is beautiful (one of Minnesota's little hidden secrets). Colton had to much fun climbing on rocks and dipping his feet in the water. Here are a few pics from Gooseberry:

Our next stop for the day was the Split Rock Lighthouse! We got to climb up to the top of the light house... Colton though that was pretty cool. And then we decided to take the trail down to the lakeside. I didn't know that this trail consisted of several hundreds steps!! Needless to say we made it down to the water and we needed to rest for quite some time! And we did not take the stairs back up to the the lighthouse... we took some side trails that weren't straight up!

Colton was so tired after playing all day at Gooseberry and the Lighthouse! He feel alseep in about 3 minutes in the car. So we headed back to the hotel, had some dinner and then we spent the rest of the night in the pool. We were all so tired by the end of the day, I think we were all sleeping by 9:30!

Saturday morning we headed to Amnicon Falls State Park in Superior, WI. The park was beautiful. We did some hiking and of course took way more pictures than anyone should! Colton is absolutely facisnated by waterfalls... and he has no fear, I think he would jump right over the edge if we weren't holding on to him. After the falls we headed back into to Duluth to tour the William A Irvin. Colton was so excited to go on the big ship but he was not very thrilled about the guided tour. He prefers to do things on his own terms... but we all made it through the 45 minute tour. After that we headed down to Canal park to hang on the beach for a while and play on the playground! We were very tired after all that fresh air so we headed back to the hotel to clean up and relax for a while. That night we ate at Hell's Kitchen - which I would not recommend. The food was okay but not as good as we were expecting! Here are some pictures from Amnicon Falls State Park and the William A Irvin Ship. We had such a good time and we hope to make this little triop an annual adventure!

Twice as Spoiled!!

Colton and I spent the weekend at the lake with Grandma Lori and Grandpa Steve and we also brought Grandma Yvonne with us!! Colton was one spoiled little boy all weekend. If mom said no he went to his Grandma's and if by chance they said no he could always count on Grandpa! We had so much fun and the weather was absolutely beautiful. We spent time playing in the water, going for golf cart rides, skipping rocks, taking the paddle boat out to the sandbar and going for a kayak ride around the lake!! We also enjoyed some great campfire food including shrimp, fresh fish, steak, chicken, corn on the cob, watermelon and smores!! It was a very relaxing weekend and we can't wait to go back. We hope everyone had a great Memorial Weekend and remember those who are fighting for our country and could not spend the weekend with their families!

Back at the Lake!

We spent our first weekend of the summer at the lake this last weekend! Colton absolutely loves being at the lake. He loves going for golf cart rides, playing on the playground, collecting rocks and throwing them in the water and of course helping PopPop collect and unload wood!! It was very cold and windy on Saturday but we still made the best of it... including me taking a nap while Colton kept Grandma very busy putting together his awesome dollar store toys! We are heading back to the lake again for Memorial weekend and this time we are bringing Grandma Yvonne along as well! Colton isn't gonna need me when he has both of his Grandma's waiting on him!! It should be a good time and hopefully the weather will be better next weekend! Check out that big rock, he was having a really hard time holding it for the picture in case you can't tell!

Wonderful Weekend!

Saturday we went to my cousin Kayla's Wedding and we had a great time! It was so much fun to hang out with so many of my cousins. And Colton proved to everyone that he is quite the little dancer... break dancer that is!! He was all over the dance floor busting his moves. And after Grandma and Grandpa took Colton home with them I was able to do some dancing too! It was so much fun to let loose and enjoy some laughs with everyone!

Then on Sunday I spent Mother's Day relaxing while Frankie worked all day in the backyard. He set up our Garden in the morning, Big Thanks to Yvonne for helping set it up and to Marissa for helping plant the veggies. And then Sunday afternoon Colton and I headed over to Uncle Freddie's house with Grandma Yvonne for homemade pizza's and Sundaes while Frankie stayed home and put together our new storage shed.... big Thanks to my dad for helping with this project. I had a very relaxing Mother's Day... Frankie on the other hand did not! I will be sure to make Father's Day a good one for him. Oh yeah, Colton got me a dozen roses and a GIANT helium balloon for Mother's Day, what an amazing son!! I know I have said this before but being a mom is the most rewarding thing ever. I couldn't imagine my life without Colton, he is just an amazing little guy. And if I am having a bad day he knows exactly what to do to melt away all of life's problems. I love you Colton and thank you for making Mother's Day (and everyday) one to remember!

Lazy Thursday!

Colton and I spent our Thursday off playing outside. We went for a long bike ride to the park, we washed Sampson's kennel and we of course played in the sandbox! Later that night when daddy got home we got down Colton's Big Boy Bike that PopPop bought him last summer at a garage sale. I didn't think he would be able to ride it yet but Colton proved me wrong once again. He is growing up way too fast!!
