It's Like a New House!!

We are making progress now! Our house doesn't look anything like it did when we bought it 5 years ago! This picture was taken in August 2006: In the fall of 2006 we put all new windows in the house and redid the roof (insulated the attic - nice save on the winter heating bills and new shingles).

Last week re finally re-sided the house and it looks amazing. We got a new front and back door and new windows in the garage and of coure the siding! We still need to install the new screen door and finish some the electrical outlets.. and put our house numbers up so the pizza man knows where to find us!!

The transformation has been huge and we couldn't have done it without so much help from our families. My dad was the contractor (boss) for all the jobs, and my brother and Frankie's brother were there to help every chance they could. Frankie's mom and my mom were always willing to take Colton so that I was able to help with whatever I could.. which wasn't always a lot!! We still have some work to do including putting up rain gutters and landscaping. And I think we are planning to put a deck/patio in the back, but I don't think that will happen yet this summer. For now are just enjoying our new house.. and I am sure the neighbors are happy too (our house has been kind of an eye soar while we were in between projects).

Finally!!

After almost 2 years we finally have carpet in Colton's Room! As you probably know we have wood floors throughout our main level including the bedrooms. Originally we had bought a throw rug but it wasn't big enough and didn't cover much of his floor. Well Saturday we bought a big area rug that covers almost all of his room and he loves it!! He sits in his room and plays now.. which he never did before becuase it wasn't cozy! Even I will go and lay on his floor and watch him play! We also did lots of organizing in his room.. and put his toys in bins at his level! He thinks it is pretty cool that he can take them out and put them away when ever he wants!
We had a good weekend, got lots of household chores done including cleaning the garage. It is amazing what kind of stuff you can put on Craigslist and people will come and get it! We got rid of all kinds of things. Actually we are waiting for a pick up of another thing tonight.. Frankie sold his Engine Hoist, we have no need for it and it just takes up space in the garage!! Sunday morning the 3 of us went to the Waterpark of America, and we had a blast. Colton went down the waterslides all by himself, which was awesome, but at the same time made me realize how grown up he is already! But he still had to go with Mommy down the big slides so I guess I am okay with it. Hope the weather continues to be nice.. I am so ready for summer to here!!
