Boogie Boarding Babes

We have spent quite a bit of time over the past two days just playing in the giant waves of the Gulf and of course boogie boarding!  The boys are becoming quite the expert boogie boarders.... which is so much fun to watch!  We have also had our fair share of fun in the sand!  The weather has continued to be amazing, in the 80's everyday and no rain and barely even a cloud in the sky.  Tomorrow is our last day on the island and we plan to make the most of it.  A two week vacation sounds like such a long time but let me tell you that it goes by so quickly!  We have taken over 400 pictures on this trip (yes I know, that is a little nuts) and here are just a few of my favorites from the last few days!

Beach Bums

The weather is amazing on the island now and we are making the most of it!  Yesterday we went for a long walk along the west end of the island with my mom and Sharon before taking them back to the airport.  Mason was quite the trooper and walked for almost an hour before deciding he was tired and needed to be carried by Mommy (which he fell asleep about 2 minutes after I picked him up)!  We collected all kinds of seashells.... one of our favorite things to do while on the island.
Then yesterday afternoon Frankie's brother and his family arrived... which means we now have two 13 year old girls and 4 youngs boys (ages 5 1/2, 5, 3 1/2 and 14 months) in the house which also means no more quite time!!  It is complete chaos most of the time but it is so much fun to watch the boys run and play together.  This morning we took the boys over to the beach to let them burn off some energy - they ran, jumped, swam, built sand castles and collected shells and trapped jelly fish under buckets until they were starving.  We came back to the house for a quick lunch and then everyone went back to the beach - except Mason and myself.... he is napping so I decided to edit pictures (I have taken 332 pictures so far)!!  We are having a great time on our trip and are looking forward to the rest of the week with this beautiful weather!

Keeping Busy

One week of our vacation is already over, how did that happen so fast?  The weather has turned nicer and we made the most of it these last two days.  We went to the Bird Sancuary, took the ferry over to Fort Morgan, spent time fishing and even managed to get in a little boogie boarding and playing on the beach!   Frankie, Yvonne and Sharon have caught us quite a few Saltwater Catfish, which are amazing by the way, and tonight Frankie caught a giant Red Drum fish which will be our lunch tomorrow. We are having a great time on vacation and hoping the next week goes by very slowly!

Picture taking in full force.....

So we  finally decided to buy our new camera... we are now the proud owners of a Canon Rebel T2i and we are having a blast learning how to use it!  We have read a little of the manual but for the most part are just learning from trial and error.... which is kinda fun!  I plan to take a class when we get back home but for this vacation we are just going to wing it (and thankfully we have our old camera here in case we need it, which we may)!  We are having a blast on vacation so far.  Haven't been able to ride the waves yet due to high winds, crazy waves and under currents and an invasion of Japenese Man O War Jellyfish! Oh well, we are still enjoying long walks on the beach and just hanging out and relaxing.  Here are some more pictures (mostly of us just experimenting with the camera)!!
