Ronnie and Reba

Last Thursday I went to the Ronnnie Dunn and Reba concert at the State Fair and it was an awesome show. My sister and I had Plaza level seats which were amazing. My mother-in-law and aunt-in-law were also at the show -of course not as cool as us though, their seats were up in the stands ;) . We got to the fair just early enough to enjoy a pronto pup, deep fried Reese's Peanut Butter Cup (amazing) and a little fair shopping and then it was concert time. Now I am really looking forward to going back to the fair on Thursday with the boys so we can take in all the other fair activities and of course eat a lot more fair food!

Baby Mum-Mum's

I just discovered these things at Target and they are awesome! They are rice cakes for baby's which dissolve almost the minute they hit his mouth and he loves them. Soon this kid is going to be eating Steak and Potatoes with us!

Attack of the Vegetables!!

Our garden is producing faster than we can keep up with all of sudden (it started our slow this year) and now it has started producing giant veggies! We forgot to pick everything before we left for the lake last weekend and by the time we came home things were out of control. We have more cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers than we can consume! And some of the cucumbers have passed up Mason is size, seriously these things are crazy!! Frankie is going to try pickling some of them and if that doesn't work it looks like we are having cucumber omelets for breakfast, cucumber and tomatoes sandwiches for lunch and cucumber hot dish dinner... anyone want to join us??

Another Weekend in North Country

The boys and I spent the weekend at the lake with my my mom, sister and mother-in-law and we had a great weekend. We didn't get to the lake until about 10:30 Friday night and after visiting for a short time we all crawled into bed and were sleeping in no time. Saturday we woke up to beautiful weather. Colton and Grandma Yvonne went into town to play a round of mini golf while Mason, Grandma Lori, Marissa and I headed to Nisswa to do some serious shopping in all the little shops. After several hours of shopping we headed back to the lake where we grilled dinner, enjoyed a game of Upwards and several glasses of wine and of course watched our Vikings. Sunday we woke up and headed back into town for lunch and a little more shopping... and then we spent the rest of the afternoon on the beach and just relaxing. We had a great weekend - I could live like that everyday! The only problem is that I forgot my camera (I know you are all in shock that I actually went somewhere without my camera but I did - it has happened a lot lately)! Thankfully I have a phone with a camera so I was able to snap a few photo's from our fun weekend.

Finger Foods

Every night when we eat dinner Mason just stares at us as if to say "Where is my food?" so we figured it might be time to let him start working on some finger foods! He has been eating rice ceral and Gerber Fruits and Veggies for almost 2 months now but he sure seems more interested in what we are eating than his baby food. Over the weekend we let him try some scrambled eggs but he didn't seemed thrilled. Sunday night he had his first experience with Gerber Graduate Puffs... Yikes, I wasn't sure he was ready but Daddy insisted we give it a try and go figure Mason loved them! We of course broke them into 3 pieces because I have a huge fear of my child choking (he is only 6 months so I can be protective if I want)!! We put the first couple in his mouth for him and once he realized how much he liked them we put a couple on his tray and let him work on this hand eye coordination. It didn't take long and he was gumming those things to nothing all by himself! Seriously, my baby is growing up so quickly and it is fun but at the same time breaks my heart. Oh well, bring on our next baby adventure!

Relax, Sleep, Relax, Eat, Relax, Fish, Relax...

We spent 4 days at the lake last weekend and it was some of the most relaxing days we have had in a long time! We took our time getting to the lake, stopping for lunch and a visit to the Pine Grove Zoo on the way up on Thursday. Once we got the lake we unloaded the van, Colton hopped on his bike and off he went to find his friends. Frankie and I just lounged around spending some quality time with Mason (we both have been working some crazy hours so this time to just hang out was awesome)! Colton would come back and check in every so often and then it was back to his friends - it is weird to let him run the campground with minimal supervision but he is old enough and I just need to accept that I guess! We did convince him to go with us out in the boat a couple times and him and Daddy were even able to reel in a nice big bass on one of our trips! We cooked dinner over the fire every night which is probably my favorite part of camping (well beside all of our family time)! Also Frankie and I were able to play many games of 500 Rummy which is something we haven't done in years. All I can say was our weekend was 4 days of complete relaxation with no schedules to keep and lots of family to bonding to get caught up on!
