Camping and Canoeing

We went camping with our Boy Scout Troop a couple weekends ago and this time we camped at Loon Lake Campground in New Auburn, WI.  Yes this is the same place my parents are seasonal campers.  Loon Lake Campground is a scout friendly campground so scouts camp for free!  And the purpose of this camping trip was to focus on our canoeing skills so that the boys are prepared for their trip to The Boundary Waters next summer and Loon Lake is an amazing lake for canoeing.  The boys had a great time and I was able to take plenty of pictures (I used my parents mini pontoon as the safety boat while the boys were in canoes with other parents so I could bring my good camera with me as it is a little safer than taking it in a canoe)!

Colton still has his cast on his arm but that didn't slow him down at all this weekend!  He still jumped in the canoe and headed out with his troop and when it was time to swim to the floating raft he didn't hesitate at all!  Also we were camping on Colton's birthday so I picked up 24 cupcakes for the boys to share around the campfire at night.  But I forgot them at home so I had to get created and I made him a cake out of mini donuts!  The boys loved it just as much :)

Baseball Season

Well another baseball season is well underway!  Mason is playing Machine Pitch this year (I couldn't sit through another year of Tee-Ball so we played him up to the next level and he is proving that it was a great decision)!  He is working on his hitting and has gotten pretty good.  He also is working hard to not play in the sand while in the field :)   Colton is playing another year of PeeWee's (he misses the age cut off by 6 weeks so he couldn't play with his classmates but also he isn't the strongest player so playing at his correct level seemed like the right decision so we did not play him up a level).  He only got to play two games this year and then he broke his arm which ended his season.  It was so much fun to watch him and he was finally getting to the point where he wasn't as scared when he stepped into the batters box.  I love being a baseball Mom and spending my summer evenings at the ball fields watching my boys!

Eleven

Happy 11th Birthday Colton!  Can't believe it has been 11 years since this amazing young many entered my life, since this beautiful child of mine officially made me a Mom. Colton has really grown a lot in the last year, he is starting to really show some signs of independence but I know he still needs his mom (like when he just cant seem to butter his toast the right way)!  Colton is still playing baseball, loves boys scouts and is now officially a Tuba player!  Colton broke his first bone just weeks before turning 11 so I guess we can check that off the list of things he has accomplished too!  Colton is very sweet, always willing to help others in need, loves his video games, still hates to read unless it is a video game or about Pokemon, excels in Math, enjoys riding his bike around town to meet up with friends and most of all is one dang good big brother!  And while we are getting close to those teenage years and we have our moments where we don't see eye to eye I am still so blessed to call this kid my son!  Happy Birthday Colton, here's to many more.  I love you to the moon and back!

Last Day of School

Well another year of school complete but this one is even harder to accept than the last one because it was Colton's last day of Elementary School!  You guys, I have a middle school child!  How is that possible?  Both the boys had a great year of school.  Mason rocked Kindergarten.  He is an expert reading and is always asking how to spell words just so he knows.  He loves to learn and he is quite the social butterfly, seemed to have friends everywhere he turned!  Colton enjoyed 5th grade and really found his passion in playing the Tuba in the 5th Grade Band.    He had a great final year of Elementary School and seems to be ready to move on to middle school (even if I am not ready for it)!
