Friday Night Fun!

Well Frankie had to work late tonight so it was just Colton and me! We made some hamburger helper for dinner ( we don't get to eat that stuff when Frankie is home.. I guess chefs don't think it is very yummy)! Then we watched some cartoons, drew some pictures (Colton loves to draw), we played with some cars (he always gets the fast one) and then it was time to get jammies on. Now we got his clothes off just fine and we got his diaper changed and then he decided it was time to burn some energy! He is too funny, he was bouncing around like a kid who had a bowl full of sugar for dinner. He is so much fun to watch and listen to... he has the best imagination and tells the best stories... but his signing I must say is the most entertaining. We have a kids sing along cd in the van and we always have to listen to it the minute we leave the driveway. And it is amazing how many songs he actually knows the words too already! We had such a fun night, I wish I never had to do anything but hang out with him. He is just so much fun and there truely is never a dull moment when Colton is awake! I love him so much!
Here is a video of him singing "No More Monkeys Jumping on Bed"

Work Party - Red Carpet Style

We went to Frankie's work party over the weekend it was a lot of fun. The theme was Hollywood Glam/ Red Carpet Event so we got to get all dressed up and enjoyed a night of great food, drinks and dancing (and karaoke). My sister MaryBeth also works for there so her and her friend Nikki were there as well which was really nice when Frankie was off chatting with his co-workers. It was nice to have a night out just the two of us; Colton stayed overnight at Grandma's house! We didn't get home until 2am which is way past my bedtime. I seriously was getting tired at about 9pm which made me feel really old... but once the dancing started I was ready to go again!
Other than that not much new with us. Just trying to stay warm and starting to get super excited about our trip. We leave in 10 days. And the temps have been in the 60's down there lately which is going to feel awesome compared to the subzero temps here. Oh yeah and we are patiently awaiting the news that my cousin had her baby. She is due tomorrow so any day now that little one could arrive. Can't wait to hear what you have Sheila and you better send pictures as soon as you are back home and settled in with that new baby!

What do you do on a snowy afternoon?

Today we went to the Mall of America for some fun adventures! We started off our day at Underwater Adventures! Colton loved seeing all the fish swim around us and I think his favorite part was petting the sting rays and sharks at the end. After playing with the fish we headed to The Corona Resturant for lunch! We sat in a booth that over looked the park, Colton was so entertained by the rides and excitement below that he almost forgot to eat! After lunch we headed down to Nickelodean Universe where Colton and I had a blast riding some rides and Frankie was having fun being our photographer and laughing at all the expressions Colton made! Colton loved the rides, and the faster they went the better! We had so much fun!We had a great day! Also here is an update on the cats: They are doing awesome. Lexi has made herself right at home.. and pretty much thinks she rules the house already. She loves to play with Colton too but still gets a little nervous when he gets too loud or starts running around like the crazy two year old that he is! Lilly is really starting to come around too. She wouldn't come out last night until after Colton went to bed ( I think he still makes her very nervous). But Frankie went in the spare room and she came right out to him crawled up on the bed with him and was purring away! Sampson has pretty much accepted that there are two cats in the house... and he has stopped trying to convince them to come of the spare room and play with him. He just goes back to the couch and sleeps his day away like he always did before. The cats stay in our spare bedroom most of the time... we have a baby gate in the doorway so they are safe from Colton and the dog. So far all is good, but I will be sure to keep you updated.

Whether the weather be fine, whether the weather be not, we'll weather the weather, whether we like it or not!

What is going on with this weather! I know we live in Minnesota but come on! When I get in my car in the morning and the temperature gauge says -24 it makes me want to move to the equator. I am not sure how much longer I can take it and they say a warm up is on the way but by warm up they mean highs in the teens.... that is not warm people!!! But we are surviving. We are spending lots of time at home just hanging out, playing toys, coloring and watching cartoons! Colton has an amazing imagination all of a sudden which makes playing with him so much fun! It also make bedtime a struggle... we have hit the "there are monsters in my closet" phase. But after mommy and daddy come to the rescue and we search the entire room for monsters he is ready to get back in his big boy bed and go to sleep! He is such a good kid I am still not sure how we got so lucky! He also sings his ABC's - which totally caught me off guard the first time he did it ( I had no idea he knew them - he learns so much at school). And we are still working on Potty Training... he went number two on the potty tonight which was quite the event in our house! We all started cheering and giving high fives, he thought it was pretty cool! We decided two weeks ago no more diapers, so we have big boy underwear (and pull ups for bed time and when we leave the house). Colton is still not a big fan of using his potty but hopefully after a few more celebrations like tonight he will start to think he is pretty cool!
Other than that not much new in our house. We are starting to get excited about our trip to Dauphin Island in February. Frankie is so excited to go Deep Sea Fishing and to take Colton fishing down on the pier. I am just excited to be relaxing in temps above zero and to wake up every morning to the sound of waves crashing on the beach!! Well I think that gets you caught up on our totally exciting life. I need to get to bed so I can get up early on a Saturday to work.... I am picking up some extra hours at Red Wing Shoes this weekend! Oh yeah one more thing, we now have 2 cats living with us. We are watching my cousins cats while he is gone for a couples months. When the idea first came up I thought this will be fun... but they have been here for about 4 hours and one of them (Lily) has not come out from under our spare bed the entire time and the other (Lexi) is trying to explore but our dog will not leave her alone! He has been running around the house like he is high for the past 4 hours just trying to get the cat to play with him... as if that is what the cat really wants to do! It is going to be a long weekend... hopefully by Monday Sampson will realize that it is just a cat and he will lay down and relax. Seriously.. what was I thinking?

Sampson and Lexi having a stare down - Lexi won! Sampson is an 85 pound baby!

Colton and Sammy have been best buds lately, although Colton wants Sammy to play with him and Sammy just usually lays on the couch and ignores him!

Colton loves his baths... and check out the video below and you will see just what I am talking about with a good imagination!

Sad day for Viking Fans

Well the game yesterday didn't turn out like I was hoping. But I will say that being at the game was awesome. The dome was louder than I had ever heard it before. Our seats were amazing. We were sitting right by some of the players family's, including McNabb's mom, T Jac's mom and McKinnie's mom!! I got some amazing photos as always so here are just a few:

I also took some videos. In case you have never been in the dome for a football game this first video will give you an idea of how loud it gets! I believe it was 3rd down for the Eagles and the place was rocking (sorry it is a little jumpy I was having a hard time containing myself)!! The second video is what happens after the Vikings score... I do believe every Minnesotan should be able to sing the song... SKOAL VIKINGS! I think Colton knows most of the words to the song by now... we sing it before bed quite often!! I am already looking forward to next season!

Future Minnesota Wild Player!

Colton got a hockey goal for Christmas from Auntie Marissa and he loves it! He also got skates but we haven't tried them out yet... maybe this weekend! Colton loves football, baseball, hockey, basketball - actually you can name any sport and the kid will play it! I am kinda hoping that hockey isn't one that he picks because that is one expensive sport... but we will let him play what he wants (that also means if he wants to be a ballerina he can be)!!

I had to throw this last picture in because it totally made me laugh this morning. Colton said he wanted to go outside and shovel snow so I told him he had to get dressed warmer. The next thing I knew he was in the kitchen looking like this! I swear there is never a dull moment when you have a 2 1/2 year old in the house!

Happy New Year!!

We celebrated New Years with family and friends... and lots of amazing food! Frankie was cooking like crazy: Halibut, Scallops, Shrimp Scampi, Raspberry Phyllo Cup's, Lobster Tail, Beef Tenderloin, King Crab Legs!! I will also have you know that the three of us did not make it to midnight, we left my parents house just before 11pm, got home and feel asleep immediately! Oh well, maybe next year we will make it to midnight! We hope everyone had a safe and Happy New Year and hopefully 2009 will bring lots of good things! Here are just a couple pics from the night!
