We Interrupt this Summer for Baseball Season!

Baseball Season is in full swing and with both boys playing it definitely keeps us busy!  Mason is playing Tee-Ball and seems to be enjoying it however I have to say that watching 5 year olds play baseball can be complete torture sometimes, they just really have very little focus for more than about 2.5 minutes.  But none the less it is awesome to watch Mason develop as a little baseball player and get excited with every catch and every at bat.  He only has one week left and then his first baseball season comes to an end.

Colton is playing on a 10U Team this year and they are doing awesome.  The team is 7-0-1 in the regular season, they are really working hard to remain undefeated and win that division trophy on the season and go into the end of year tournament as the #1 seed.  Colton has been working hard on his batting and this last weekend at their tournament he made me very proud.  On Sunday he was 4 for 4 at bat and was beaming with pride with every hit.  At the beginning of the season he seemed scared of the ball and would jump out of the batters box cause he was afraid to get hit but now he is swinging at the first pitch and Sunday he connected every time on that first swing. It was so much fun to watch. The boys didn't win their games on Saturday but Sunday they came back a new team and they played their hearts out and won both their games and took home the consolation trophy.  Very proud of our boys and excited to watch them finish out this season and hopefully take home a 1st place trophy in their next tournament!

Here are a few pictures from our tournament this last weekend.  Colton had some great hits and plays and it was so much fun to watch and at the same time it was very stressful.   The older the boys get the more competitive the games are and the more pacing this mama has to do!  Now Mason has pretty much grown up on a baseball field, spent the last 5 summers watching his big brother play and this year is no different.  Mason is very good at entertaining himself while we sit in the heat for 6 hours a day, he plays in the dirt, eats plenty of snacks and this time he even got to be official score keeper for two of the games.   He is such a great baseball brother!  I LOVE MY BASEBALL BOYS!

Summerfest Parade

The boys and I walked in the Summerfest Parade in Oakdale tonight with my sister and her family, representing their Tow Company.  They boys were very excited, the last time Mason was in a parade he was only 9 months old so he thought this was pretty cool.  Mason rode on the flat bed tow truck for most of the parade route however Colton walked the entire thing and handed out candy (and towards the end when most floats are out of candy we still had some and Colton was pretty much being chased down by kids asking for candy, it got a little extreme)!  After the parade we headed back to the house and had a late dinner with everyone and then Dairy Queen Cake to celebrate Colton and Landon's 10th Birthdays (they are only 10 days apart in age)!  It was a fun summer night, making memories like always!

Summer Goals 2016

I have wanted to make a Summer Goals list the last couple years but just never got around to doing it but this year we finally got one done and it is hanging up in my office for all to see!  The boys and I sat down one night after dinner and brainstormed all our favorite summer activities as well as a couple new ones that we would like to try out this year.  We aren't saying we will get the entire list completed but we are more than ready to start checking the boxes on our Summer Goals!   Here is to an amazing summer full of fun memories.

Whoa, he's 10 already!

Double Digits!  I still can't believe it.  10 years ago today, I became a Mom and it has been the best thing that has ever happened to me.  Colton is such a great kid.  He is so caring, kind, honest, determined, funny, outgoing, passionate, loving, hard headed, stubborn and just simply amazing.   I am so proud to say that he is my son.  I still can't believe it has been 10 years since he entered the world, it feels like just yesterday.  I have enjoyed watching him grow and become so independent and I look forward to seeing all that he accomplishes in life.  He loves the outdoors, is a very social kid (always has friends calling to see if he can play), is a master of video games, is a wonderful big brother even if some days he says he hates his little brother and above all he is the most caring child on the planet and will do anything to make sure others are okay.

I decided to do something new this year, I did a birthday interview with him.  I am hoping to try to remember to ask him these same questions every year to see how his answers change! So here goes, read below to get to know Colton, age 10!

Pre-K Graduate

Well it's official, I no longer have a baby, a toddler or a preschooler!  Mason graduated from Pre-K last week and it was not easy for this mama.  He had two graduation ceremonies.  On Wednesday he graduated from Kindercare where he attended preschool from 8-noon every day.  He has been at Kindercare for almost two years and he had the same two preschool teachers as his big brother did 5 years ago and I cannot say it enough when I say they were amazing!  Yes I cried during the ceremony and cried like a baby on the last day of Kindercare when Ms Michelle gave him a big hug before we left and said "I love you Mason".  Seriously, that learning center was the best place we ever enrolled our kids and now 7 years later we have left their building for the last time.  It was very surreal and is still sinking in.

 His awesome teachers!

On Thursday Mason graduated from Pre-K at Pullman.  Mason attended Pre-K at the Elementary school every afternoon and he absolutely loved it.  He was so excited to be at the big school with his big brother and he learned so much that is still amazes me!  He can spelling so many words, he recognizes at least 20 site words, he can read simple books and he is turning into a little math whiz just like his brother.  The things this kid can do are astonishing to me.  I did make it through this ceremony without crying but that isn't to say that I didn't cry when I got to my car and it all sank in a little more.  My baby is growing up so fast.  I love this stage that we are at but it is still hard to accept that soon I won't be able to hold him in my arms and rock him to sleep, I won't be able to carry him from his car seat to the his bed when we get home late, I won't be able to kiss him cause it will embarrass him too much and he won't need Mom to help him every step of the way.  I love you Mason and Congrats on your Pre-K Graduation, on to Kindergarten you go!

Last Day of School

Well it is officially summer break!  The boys finished their last days of school today.  Mason completed Pre-K and Colton completed 4th grade.  I still can't believe it, they are growing up so fast.  Next year will be the only year that they will at the same school together (full time that is, Mason did go to half days at the Elementary school this year)!  Time to the make the most of our summer vacation.
