Weekend full of water and laughs!

We held our 3rd Annual Sand's Waterpark get together over the weekend and it was a blast. Colton I believe is developing gills - he swam for hours both days. He has also gotten quite brave, he goes down the big waterslides all by himself, he floats around the lazy river and he even worked up enough courage to sit under the waterfall (caused by a giant bucket of water that dumps ever 3-4 minutes)! We played bored games late into the night and laughed so hard we cried. I am so lucky to have such an amazing extended family and I love that we get together like this - away from work and the stress of everyday life. We had so much fun, it was a great weekend.

A Lynx and the Library all in one day!

This morning we went to the zoo and Colton had an experience with a Lynx that not many people are lucky enough to get to see. It was so much fun, we must have stood and watched the Lynx for at least 10 minutes. Here is a video to show you what I am talking about:

This afternoon Colton and I went to the Park Grove Library for the first time (well his first time, I went there back in High School). Colton now has his very own Library card and checked out his first 4 books - and I couldn't be more proud the first book he selected was "Llama Llama Misses Mama". We have several other Llama books at home which he loves and when he saw that one on the shelf he got very excited. He had so much fun picking out his books and he even layed down on the floor and read some books while we were there. We are hoping to make this Library trip a Thursday ritual. I have never been a person to pick up a book and just read for fun but I am hoping to change that with him!

Boys Best Friend

Gotta love lazy Sunday mornings. Colton and Sammy spent about an hour and half on the couch watching cartoons this morning while I cleaned the house and did laundry!

Gotta love these boys!

Yesterday was my nephews 3rd birthday party! We had so much fun helping him celebrate and I am pretty sure the cake was the best part for the boys! These guys are all so close in age (only 25 months between oldest and youngest) and it is so much fun to watch them play together and grow up together. I know in a couple more years I might be singing a different tune but for now it is awesome and I hope they grow up to be best friends. Happy 3rd Birthday Issac!

Maybe it is time...

This week has been a long one. We got home from vacation Monday night and pretty much ate dinner and passed out - two days of driving will do that to you. I had Tuesday off work, I was hoping to get get everything unpacked and laundry done before returning to work but the van was having troubles again so I took it to the shop for the day. Tuesday night I did get the grocery shopping done but that was about all I got accomplished. Wednesday was back to work and let me tell it was a long day. Nineteen days of vacation can really screw things up, my 10 hour work day seemed more like 3 weeks! And because I may be clinically insane I decided to work on Thursday (which is normally my day off). Thursday night I picked Colton up from my dad, who by the way did a great job watching him for the day, we came home and I started dinner while Colton ran off to play with his toys. ABout 10 minutes later I went to check on him and this was what I found:
So I guess maybe it is time we unpack our suitcases and get them off the couch so our child has a place to read his books! And I have to admit as I am writing this on Saturday afternoon both of our suitcases are still on the couch. Seriously, this week has been nuts! I think I needed a week after my vacation to just recover from being on vacation.
