Christmas Morning

Christmas Morning was perfect! We woke up to Colton crawling in bed with us and shortly after we heard Mason yelling for us through his moniter. Colton found presents from Santa in front of our fireplace and his stocking was full so the excitement was through the roof. We got up and opened presents with our boys - best moments ever. Colton was helping his little brother open his presents and explaining what each one did, made me very proud of my little man. Mason didn't fully understand what in the world all the excitement was about but he did know that with all that paper being ripped and thrown around the room he was getting new toys! Colton asked Santa for Yoshi's for Christmas and Santa came through like he always does... he brought 9 Yoshi stuffed animals and placed them all in the Christmas Tree. It took a little hinting for Colton to go look in the tree but once he found one he was thrilled and then as he discovered more he became the happiest kid ever! Overall it was the prefect Christmas Morning, we have two healthy little boys who are the center of our lives and we couldn't ask for anymore. Merry Christmas.

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve at Freddie and Melissa's house and we had a great night. Colton loves running around with his cousins and this night was no different. Mason was completely spoiled by all the people who wanted to hold and snuggle him! We enjoyed appetizers and very yummy homemade Mac and Cheese and of course opened all kinds of presents. Being with family is what Christmas is all about!

Let's make some Cookies....

We spent Friday afternoon baking cookies with my dad! Colton was actually quite a good helper this time too (usually he lasts about 10 minutes and then says he is bored but not this time)! We made Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies, Reindeer Cookies, Chocolate Covered Pretzels and Sugar Cookies (and my dad had made Snickerdoodles and Ginger Snaps before we even arrived). Mason was our taste tester and he said they all turned out awesome. It was a fun afternoon of baking and now we have been enjoying cookies for the last three days - YUM!!

F-A-M-I-L-Y

My family means the world to me, I don't know what I would do without them. Thanksgiving weekend we finally took family pictures at the request of my mom. She has been asking for family pictures for over a year and finally they are done! A friend of the family took the pics for us at my parents house and I must say he did an awesome job. I will let the pictures do the talking....

My little Wrestler

We signed Colton up for wrestling this fall and he seemed to really like it (until it came to tournament time)! He had pratice twice a week for an hour which seemed like a little much for a kindergartner but he seemed to enjoy it. He learned a lot of moves and more than anything stayed very active, which was my reason for signing him up in the first place. Last Wednesday was the last night and they ended the season with a tournament. Each kid weighed in and was matched up against 3 other wrestlers. Well because Colton is pretty big for a kindergartner he was matched up against a couple first graders and one kid who I am pretty sure was a second grader. He didn't win any of his matches but he didn't seem to mind at all. He still won a medal just for participating and he received a picture of the high school wrestling team and after the tournament the Seniors autographed the picture for the Little Wrestlers... Colton thought that was pretty cool. He said he had fun and he looks forward to next fall when he can wrestle again.

The Holiday Train

We went to see the Holiday Train a couple weekends back. The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train stops in Cottage Grove every year to help raise money for the food shelf and every year we say we are going to go but we never do. Well this year was different, we went (mostly becuase the weather was perfect, it was about 35 degrees when the train came through) and we loved it! Colton was so excited when he heard the training coming down the tracks and then when he say the lights he started to cheer. It was a great way to get us into the holiday spirit. I love this time of year!
