I went hunting for the first time a weekends ago and it was quite the experience. We spent 3 full days down in Iowa searching for Pheasants. I went with Clint, his brother and his nephew. They have been hunting this area for years and sure seemed to know what they were doing however that doesn't mean we found the birds right way. It did take some time and we covered a lot of country dirt roads in the mini van in search of these beautiful birds (some roads were very questionable and were intended for vehicles with 4 wheel drive but the minivan handled it like a champ). In the end we did come home with 4 pheasants and 1 quail. I didnt' shoot any of these birds, nope I was just along for the ride. This whole hunting thing is a little intimidating so I let the pros handle it :) Hopefully I can get in some shooting practice next summer and then next Fall I will be able to show these boys how it is done (ha, yes that is my competitive side coming out but I am guessing I might have to leave the hunting to the boys)! It was a lot of fun and I had my good camera with me so I enjoyed a little photography fun along the way too!
