Christmas Season

Well once again I have fallen way behind on my blogging.... happens to the best of us!  Christmas has come and gone but I still wanted to post about it.  We started our holiday season with Christmas with the entire Sand Family.  We enjoyed a potluck lunch, a visit with Santa, cards and fun with cousins and Great Grandpa!

Mason's class had a winter program in which they sang some Christmas Songs and then we got to go back to their classroom and make crafts and enjoy cookies and juice! I totally teared up watching him sign with his class, he is just growing up way too fast and I couldn't be more proud of him and his independence but at the same time I am sad at how fast it is happening.  We also had a special visitor come to Cub Scouts one night.  Santa gave all the cub scouts a derby car as a gift, yup its time to get working on our cars again!

This is Mason and Addy.  They were in Pre-K together and they have quickly become best buddies.  Mason actually told me today that when he gets older and moves out someone is going to try to marry him and then he informed me that it is Addy.  I am okay with this, she is a little sweetheart!

Christmas Eve I spent the day with Clint's family and the boys spent the day with their Dad and that side of the family.  Christmas Day we spent the entire day relaxing at my house and it was wonderful.  My parents and siblings joined us.  I made a delicious egg bake for brunch and a complete ham dinner for late afternoon and in between we opened presents and played board games and plenty of games of cribbage.  I love that I don't have to travel on Christmas but instead get to just relax at home with my family.  Top presents this year included ice fishing gear and slippers for Clint, a printer/scanner and earbuds for me, a metal detector for Colton and a giant dinosaur castle for Colton.  And the theme of this Christmas for the boys was LEGOS!  They got 9 new lego sets, talk about some happy boys!

Of course we also had several cookie baking days!  I participated in our Annual Cookie exchange with a bunch of girlfriends, the kids and I did some baking at home and we spent Christmas Eve Eve baking up a storm with my mom and dad.  Yup, more than enough treat in our house which was very dangerous, glad that part of the holidays is over!

And one tradition that I just love is our Annual Ornament Painting Party that my mom and I host.  Now we had it planned for before Christmas but the Minnesota Weather changed those plans so we hosted it after Christmas which was kind of fun too, extended the holiday season just a little longer!
