Dog Days of Summer
Do you like the new way Colton crawls? He is still determined not to walk so he crawls on all fours! Yup, that's my boy! We spent a couple hours at the pool today and it was perfect. We couldn't ask for better weather... mid 80's and no humidity! We have been going to the pool a lot lately... it is so close to our house and we don't have to deal with sand in places that it shouldn't be! I think we are going to Leprechaun Days in Rosemont tonight... I have no idea what it is all about but I will let you know. For now I am off to take a little nap!

HEAT WAVE!
Other than heat, not much new. I met with a job ajency last week, I am determined to find a full time job. Don't get me wrong I love being at home with Colton, but some extra money wouldn't hurt. So hopefully with the help of this company I will find something. Colton is finally feeling better! And he is so close to walking. He could do it if he wanted to but he just doesn't realize that yet. One of these days he is just gonna go, and I better be here to see it.
UPDATE: We just back from the pool and it was awesome. It is so hot outside that just being in the water was nice. They have a very nice, very shallow wading pool but someone added too many chemicals so it was closed today. So Colton and I had to hang out in the big pool. He loved it. He loves to be in the water, and he even finds it funny when you dunk him under. Now he is napping (swimming really wears him out) and I am going to try to get some cleaning done!

Bones Moving Everywhere!
In other news, Colton has been coughing a lot the last couple nights so we decided to take him in yesterday to make sure it was nothing serious. Well the cough is just that, a cough. But we did find out that he has a double ear infection! We didn't expect that, he hasn't been pulling on his ears or anything. So he is in antibiotics twice a day. Poor kid, first pink eye and now an ear infection. I guess we are lucky, this is the first one he has ever had and apparently they are pretty common in babies.
Other than that not much new. I am still trying to find a job. I never thought it would be this tough! Of course if I would have finished school that really would have helped. I am really starting to consider school again this fall so that I can finally finish a degree. And I am trying to lose weight... but it is a slow process. I have lost 8 pounds in 3 weeks... at this rate it is going to take me until next summer to reach my goal. It would probably help if I would stop going to the lake every weekend, because when I am there I seem to eat Smores by the handful!

Happy 4th of July
Then on Thursday Frankie and I both had the day off so we went to Lake Elmo. I was so excited because I just bought new beach chairs but as you can see Colton seems to think I bought them for him!
Friday night we headed to the lake again. It was a hot weekend, but perfect for swimming! It also was the weekend that the campground decided to do their festivities for the 4th! Every year they have a bike parade on the 4th but this year it was pushed to Saturday. All the kids in the campground decorate their bikes... and the adults decorate their golf carts (sad I know). Well we decided that we would decorate ours Vikings style (remember this campground is in Packer Territory). It was a lot of fun, although I did get hit with a water balloon by one salty packer fan and we got chased with a water gun by another, but it was 95 degrees so it actually felt pretty good.
We even hung a packer guy off the back so we could beat it with a stick all through the parade! It was awesome. Although I think they might be kicking us out of the campground after this, just kidding.

We Love the Lake
Colton loves to be in the water, and he loves building sand castles with Boomer.
We spent all last weekend up at the lake and it was great. It was so relaxing. The weather was perfect. And becuase the lake is so shallow (way down due to the lack of water the past few years), the water is nice and warm. Actually maybe a little too warm in some spots! Colton loves being at the lake. Although once he is walking it will be much better. He is still crawling everywhere and let me tell you he is quite dirty by the end of the day! We are planning on going to the lake again this weekend, and this time Frankie got off work so he can go too! We bought Colton his own life jacket and we are planning on getting him in the boat for the first time! I hope he likes it.
In other news, Colton goes to the doctor today for his one year check-up. So we will find out what he weighs and how tall he is! I am sure he is about off the charts by now. He also has a very red and swollen eye ( I think it is Pink Eye) so we will be getting that checked out. We plan on taking him to see Fire Works tomorrow, as long as he is feeling good after his vaccinations and his eye is better! We are still waiting for him to take his first steps on his own. He walks along the furniture like it is no big deal but he just won't let go! We are also hoping to take away bottles soon, but it is not easy. We are only using them for naps and bedtime, but that is going to have to stop and I am not sure if he will ever sleep again! Okay well I have to get going, I have to feed him lunch and then we are off to the doctor. I will update about the doctor visit later this week.
UPDATE: Well we just got back from the doctor and he was very good. He weighs 26 pounds and 12 ounces and he is 32" tall; which puts him the 90th percentile for both. He got 3 shots and he did very good, he cried of course but that is to be expected. He also had to get his finger pricked to they could check his blood. He didn't seem to mind that too bad which surprised me. And the doctor confirmed my guess.. he has Pink Eye! So we have drops to put in his eyes every 3 hours for the next week. Other than that he is as healthy as we could have hoped for!
