We made our first trip to Las Vegas last week and we had a blast! Frankie was going to Vegas for a Catering Convention so the boys and I decided to tag along and spend 5 days with Grandma and Grandpa Peterson (Frankie's Grandparents). My parents also decided to go with and I am so glad they did as Frankie ended up coming home a day early so they were extremely helpful with the boys and all our crap on the way home!! This was the first time in Vegas for all 4 of us and the first flight for the boys so the week leading up to the trip had my anxiety through the roof. What if Mason screamed all the way? What if Colton freaks out about the heights and won't get back on the plane to come back home? What if they won't let me check the carseats, stroller, formula, snacks? Seriously, I was a wreck but the flight went great and I had to reason to be concerned. The boys did awesome on the flight. Mason fell asleep while we were de-icing and slept until they plane was up and leveled out and then took another hour nap towards the end of the flight, waking up just in time to land! Colton enjoyed some snacks and watched his movies. We got through the airport (here and in Las Vegas) with no problems at all and before we knew it we were all checked into our room at the Flamingo and ready to meet up with Grandma and Grandpa. Saturday was the only day that Frankie didn't have to attend the convention so we tried to cram in as much as we could even though we were tired from traveling. We started our day at Circus Circus where Colton enjoyed playing some carnival games with his Grandma and Grandpa and also watched a couple circus acts. This place was awesome for kids... and he won all kinds of prizes (mostly stuffed animals) and thankfully we had room in our suitcase to bring them all home. We spent afternoon/evening at Grandma and Grandpa's house just hanging out - we hadn't seen them since last September so it was nice to just spend some time together. That night we put the boys to bed in my parents room and Frankie and I went walking on the strip, we wandered in and out of casinos and took in the Fountain Show at the Bellagio. By midnight we were back in our room with the boys and back in bed! Sunday Frankie spent the entire day at his convention and the boys and I spent the morning with my parents enjoying breakfast at Denny's on the strip and then we went over the Ceasar's Palace to see the statues. We spent the afternoon and evening with Grandma and Grandpa Peterson. We started our day at an animal sanctuary where Colton found more birds than he could have even imagined. Then we spent some time at their house where the boys played in the backyard and went to a local park where Colton ran off some of his energy. We enjoyed dinner with them and then they brought us back to our hotel room. Frankie got done around 8pm so we decided to head out and take in the Volcano Show at the Mirage and the Fountain Show at the Bellagio. Mason was back in the hotel with Grandma so we didn't feel so bad being out on the strip still at 10:30pm. Colton also got his picture taken with some showgirls and Bumble Bee which made him the happiest boy ever! Okay I think that is enough for this post, I will post again with our final 3 days in Vegas - like I said we crammed in a lot in 5 days and I took over 200 pictures (not that should surprise any of you)!
