Berberena Garden 2012

We were late getting our garden planted this year but finally it is done!  We decided to do a little landscaping around the shed and garden first which is one of the reason we are delayed and several trips to the lake is the other!  Anyways our Vegetable Garden is officially planted and we are so excited to start picking fresh veggies!

This year we planted the following:
Roma Tomatoes
Super Fantastic Tomatoes
Garden Salsa Peppers
Jalapeno's
Serrano Peppers
Tabasco Peppers (these are tri colored and just looked cool)
Bush Pickles (two plants)
Sweeter Yet Cucumbers
Aristocrat Zuccihini
We also have green beans which we will be starting from seed and then planting in the garden!

Here is our garden about 6 weeks ago.... needed some serious attention:
And here is our garden tonight... with veggies all planted:

  1. I LOVE this! Maybe next year we'll take the leap... we do have bell peppers planted in a pot, our little "first try" experiement... so much fun Mandy!

  2. We love our garden... Colton loves to help plant it and really really enjoys picking the veggies later in the season! We just stick in the garden with a bowl or two or three and picks everything that is ready! I will say that I kill everything I look at so the idea of a garden that I had to main scared the shit out of me... but this is our 4th year and every year the crops have been great and so easy! Actually the hardest part is getting it planted... and then remember to water every now and then otherwise the plants do all the work! I say take the leap, you will not regret it (and it is good for the kids to learn where food comes from and that it doens't just magically appear at Cub Foods)!!

  3. Super impressive! I have been wishing for a yard to be able to do some gardening (probably on a much smaller scale since I really know nothing about it), but then again we are enjoying not having to tend to a yard as well. Someday I guess! Happy growing. :)

  4. This really isn't that big of a garden, we could fit much more in there but then we end up with way more than we can consume! Last year we had 3 tomato plants and we were picking enough to feed about 4 families!
